Quaglio & Simonelli
Quaglio Simonelli is born out of the meeting between Andrea Quaglio and Manuela Simonelli, both graduated at the Università del Progetto in Reggio Emilia.
Following their debut with Philippe Starck, with whom they collaborate for two years, they start their own design studio in Paris, developing an activity that branches out into different fields of creativity, convinced as they are that diversification is a source of creative wealth.
Their projects range from tech objects to lamps, from furniture to accessories, brand identity and design for cosmetics, alternating industrial and artisanal approach. Their creations are the fruit of the encounter of two sensibilities, and are borne out of their backgrounds, and of the creative look they have towards the world around them. This way, the objects created have almost a familiar memory, “contaminated” by unexpected and poetic elements.
Amongst the several prizes received: Red Dot Product Design Award, IF Product Design Award, CES Innovation Award, HKDA Award, Kapok Prize, Étoile de l’Observeur, Janus de l’Industrie. Many of their projects are now part of the collection of the National Found for Contemporary Art at the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris.
